Essex Corona Virus Response and Recovery Programme · 24 March 2020

Essex Community Foundation is playing a leading role in the development of local philanthropy and resources to sustain communities. It works to improve the quality of life of people in our community by investing and distributing funds on behalf of individuals, companies and public agencies.

Story

Essex Community Foundation (ECF) has launched a funding programme to help voluntary organisations during the coronavirus pandemic.

The purpose of the ‘Essex Coronavirus Response and Recovery Programme’ is to get grants quickly to organisations that are helping older and vulnerable people during the crisis and to support those that need funding to keep their services running.

We have now secured £1.1 million for the Programme as many of our existing supporters have been wonderfully generous in making additional donations or having agreed to waive the specific criteria of their funds so that we can give as much support as possible at this time. We have also received generous donations from members of the public, local businesses and charitable trusts.

ECF, together with community foundations across the UK, will also be distributing funds raised by the National Emergencies Trust; which is a national appeal.

Any money donated to this JustGiving page will help local charities and voluntary groups in Essex during this difficult time. Please visit our website (www.essexcommunityfoundation.org.uk) for regular updates on what has been supported.

Thank you.
