Story
On the 24th & 25th of June two teams from Essex Highways will be taking part in the Three Peaks Challenge.
The aim of the challenge is to climb the three highest mountains in Scotland (Ben Nevis), England (Scafell Pike) and Wales (Snowdon) and drive between them, all within 24 hours. This works out as a distance of over 20 miles walked including a total ascent of 3064m (10,052ft) and over 500 miles of driving. This will be a huge physical and mental challenge for all those involved, with lots of team and individual training taking place in the build up to the event.
We will be undertaking the challenge to raise money for The Royal Marsden Cancer Charity, in memory of Bill Taylor, our former Chairman and Managing Director, who sadly passed away from pancreatic cancer in 2016. Our aim is to raise a total of £1,000 between the two teams. So please donate whatever you can to support us in our challenge and raise money for this worthwhile cause.
The team members are:
Walkers - Chloe Livingstone, Chris Pound, Claire Fathers, Dave Gollop, David Benito, Joe Hazelton, Jonathan Pearson, Jordon Hopper, Laura Dunnell, Luke Thompson, Olivier Hours, Ross Corbyn, Sarah Potter, Shaun Morgan, Shirley Anglin, Vicky Presland
Drivers - Adrian Carden, Dean Thompson, John Silvester, Peter Harvey
