The Estatesearch team decided that it was time for a challenge, to move away from our desks, introduce some healthy team competition and raise money for a good cause at the same time.  This resulted in our Team vs Team virtual Lands End to John o'Groats challenge.  

Setting off on 1st July, by walking running, swimming, cycling and dancing we will race the 1,576.8km from Lands End to see who reaches John o'Groats first.  Who will win? The Holy Walkamolies or The Young and the Breathless?  Keep an eye on our updates here and on LinkedIn.

Estatesearch's Jonathan Upton is Chair of Re-engage, a charity he became involved in after his Granny, Edwina, whom he was very close to passed away.  Edwina was an incredibly kind, warm and loving person, who was involved in the local church always made sure that the older parishioners had someone to visit them. Edwina would have loved Re-engage's, valuable work to reduce loneliness and social isolation amongst older people by bringing generations together in friendship and shared experiences.  We all agree and invite you to support such a wonderful cause.

Re-engage volunteers work together to create better communities and help to enrich the lives of older people by giving them something to look forward to through tea party groups, the call companions service, or activity groups. Older people who may have felt very alone, now feel valued as individuals, continue to form friendships, and have groups that give support.

• £5 donation would allow Re-engage to give volunteers invaluable training.
• £15 donation would allow the charity to carefully match an isolated older person with a call companion for regular calls.
• £25 donation would allow the charity to protect a vulnerable older person by running through safeguarding checks on a new volunteer.
• £50 donation would help an older person to take part in physical activity groups providing opportunities for them to socialise with others and improve physical and mental well-being.
