I did it! Against all odds I completed the London Marathon in 5:09:29! All running without a single stop ( those who were tracking me would know)

THANK YOU all so much for your support! Colleagues, parents, friends, family, my people who came down to support, my physio and his magic hands, the race pace maker who I run with the last five miles and the crowds. It is incredible having strangers calling your name and encourage you to keep going! Amazing feeling! I crossed the line in tears because of the emotion but mostly because of the immense physical pain.

Today I can barely move, my whole body aches but I feel so privileged to have done something for LCCCP. Now I just need to complete the job and raise another £400 to reach £2000.

A few months ago, in September, I was asked if I want to take part in the Virgin London Marathon and without a second thought I said 'Yes!'.

I am the Headteacher at The London Centre for Children with Cerebral Palsy. Admittedly a challenging job, but when you are surrounded by children with so much drive and determination nothing seems impossible. All the pupils in my school have Cerebral Pasly, a condition that causes physical disability through a disorder in the development of movement and posture.

LCCCP is known for its long  commitment to a specialised programme known as Conductive Education. This incorporates a holistic approach which acknowledges all areas of the child's development and addresses them through active participation and enjoyment. Our staff work incredibly hard on a daily basis to help children reach their potential.

As an independent charity school, funds are not easily available. We constantly need resources so that the children can access learning. This included interactive media devices, funds for trips,  as well as literacy and numeracy resources to name a few.

I have adopted a strict running regime which involves going out running in all conditions every day after work and at the weekends. It is hard work and it does hurt but every penny helps and I am asking you all for a contribution. What will keep me going with the training is not my new shoes or the upbeat tunes on my ipod but your donations which will will let my children buy some items of their wish list!
