Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
I am doing a 'mitzvah' project for my Bat Mitzvah later this year. (For information, a Bat Mitzvah is a Jewish coming of age ceremony which children do when they are 13 years old. As a part of that, children do a mitzvah project to help others in the community.) For my mitzvah project, I have decided to team up with AgeUk Camden and Jewish Care because I want to help older isolated people, who might not have the warmth of the community, family or friends that I am lucky enough to have. I am planning on doing a sponsored silence on the 27th of April, where I will try to be silent (very hard for me!!) for roughly 6 hours.
I will be giving all money raised to AgeUK Camden (a local charity in my neighbourhood for older people) who run a befriending service called 'Good Neighbours.' And I will also be giving money to Jewish Care's Holocaust Survivors Centre in North London which my friend Gerda in the photo above is a part of.
I hope you will be able to support me in this. It's definitely going to be a big challenge for me!!
Evie xx
