Hello,

I am a high school senior who lives in Philadelphia and is extremely passionate about motivating and aiding people who are suffering because of cancer.

Background:

           Well, I first started running marathons because of my Uncle who was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer. During this time, he was in a very somber mood, which was so different from his upbeat and charismatic personality. So in an attempt to cheer him up and bring hope, I told him if I could run a marathon, he would be able to beat his cancer. This experience has put a special place in my heart for cancer patients. My first Philadelphia marathon, which I dedicated to my uncle Solomon is an event I will never forget and at every marathon, I will run in the future he will always be with me in spirit.

         My connection to children, on the other hand, is somewhat deeprooted. Since I was a small child I have always enjoyed helping others in need. As I got older this did not change. I have spent many hours volunteering in different activities at schools or hospitals in support of children. I also had the great opportunity to do some of this work in Africa. I adore children. My mindset has always been children are our future and we should love and nurture them. In light of this, I am planning to run another marathon in support of children and this time children with cancer.

Goal:

           I want to take part in the 2019 New York Marathon as part of the "Children With Cancer UK" team. My goal is to fundraise the maximum amount of money I possibly can through all my connections and school network for the fight against cancer in children. Cancer is terrible and we should try to do everything we can to help fight cancer in children. 

Children With Cancer UK:

      At Children with Cancer UK, they actively raise and invest money for vital specialist research to save the lives of every child with cancer and keep their family together. Their vision is a world where every child diagnosed with cancer gets to ring their end of cancer treatment bell.

Any amount donated is greatly appreciated. The donation will be going to "Children With Cancer UK".
