Story
Faith and Belief Forum interns are premiering the first London streaming of Soufra - which follows the 'unlikely and wildly inspirational story of intrepid social entrepreneur, Mariam Shaar'.
Money raised will be divided between the Faith and Belief Forum (F&BF) and Alfarnar's Soufra fund.
Who are we fundraising for, and why?
F&BF have worked over the last 20 years to build good relations between people of different faiths, beliefs and cultures. By celebrating individuality and community and helping people to have comfortable conversations in a safe space, F&BF continue to make a positive, ongoing impact by building movement and projecting voices.
Alfarnar's Soufra fund provides support and opportunities to women and children within the Burj al Barajneh refugee camp to access the education and employment they need to live in dignity.
By donating to the Soufra Fund, your donation will help Mariam not only cover some of the food-truck’s recurring costs, but also fulfill her dream of building a high-quality nursery school inside the camp.
Mariam will in turn help Alfanar direct any additional funds raised to other deserving social entrepreneurs working to improve vulnerable communities like she has.
