Story
ADRA is an international humanitarian agency that operates in 118 countries around the world. Their main areas of impact are health, education, livelihoods, and emergency response.
Through the Impact 365 Challenge, new joiners to Fidelity are working with ADRA to help tackle issues surrounding gender inequalities in homelessness, including period poverty and root causes such as domestic abuse. We are aiming to raise £3000 for ADRA by 31st December 2021.
The FIL volunteering activities will include an informative webinar open to all employees on Friday 10th December and an article raising awareness of some of the issues we are addressing to be posted on The Source.
FIL UK employees will also leverage one of their volunteering days on Thursday 23rd December to visit the ADRA Advent Centre in London to help donate and build "care packages" of sanitary towels, knickers, hand sanitiser, shower gel and baby wipes for homeless women.
The aim of this project is to take a "three-pronged approach" to the issue, raising money for ADRA, leveraging volunteering time to deliver practical assistance to the charity, and raising awareness of issues surrounding homelessness, gender inequality and domestic abuse.
