Hello, my name is Lieutenant George Blakeman and i'm the Charity Officer for the Royal Navy's Flag Officer Sea Training (South) organisation. Thank you for visiting our 'Just Giving' page.
FOST(S) delivers the Royal Navy’s through-life operational training across all platforms and disciplines. Based in HMNB Devonport, Plymouth, FOST(S)’s training prepares all types of surface warships, submarines and auxiliaries for peacetime and military operations. This spectrum of training has been provided for nearly 40 years, with many NATO and non-NATO nations returning regularly.
Our organisation has chosen St Luke's Hospice here in Plymouth as our nominated local charity. We hope to raise as much money as possible through several demanding challenges in 2013. With your donations we can assist St Luke's Hospice continue their amazing work supporting patients with terminal illnesses.
A team of 12 'sea-riders' from FOST(S) will walk the length of Hadrian's Wall from Bowness on Solway to Wallsend, Newcastle Upon Tyne on 29th July to the 1st August 13; a total length of 84 miles over some challenging terrain.
