Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
Maisy was born at 24 weeks and 5 days weighing 1lb 8oz, she was in intensive care and breathing with the help of a ventilator because her lungs had not yet fully developed. She remained in hospital for 19 weeks before coming home on oxygen, which she continued to need for the next year.
It is because of the care and expertise of all the staff on the Neonatal Ward that she is with us today. I would like to give a little something back as a thank you for saving my daughters life.
Some friends and I are doing the National Three Peaks Challenge on July 14th 2012. The challenge is an event where participants attempt to climb the highest mountains of Scotland, England and Wales within 24 hours. It is frequently used to raise money for charitable organisations. Walkers climb each peak in turn, and are driven from the foot of one mountain to the next. The three peaks are: Ben Nevis (1,344 metres, 4,409 ft), the highest mountain in Scotland; Scafell Pike (978 m, 3,209 ft), the highest mountain in England; Snowdon (1,085 m, 3,560 ft), the highest mountain in Wales. The total distance walked is estimated at 42 kilometres (26 miles) or 44 km (27 miles), with a total ascent of 9,800 feet (3,000 m).
Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate - I raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity.
Thank you for helping me raise much-needed funds for the Leicester Royal Infirmary Neonatal Ward.
