Story
As it is Mental Health Awareness week I have decided to challenge myself to run 100 miles throughout June in order to raise awareness for my local Mind organisation; Nottinghamshire Mind.
The people close to me will know the Mental Health issues I have had and still battle with to this day, however from the outside looking in - as it is with many people battling Mental Health - you would never know. I am doing this challenge as I want you all to know it's okay not to be okay.
Both myself and Nottinghamshire Mind would be grateful if you could donate whatever you're able to - even the smallest donation goes a long way in allowing them to support anyone with mental health ensuring we all have somewhere to turn to for support and advice. They need support now more than ever with mental health issues on the rise given the currently pandemic and people struggling with lockdown.
To all of you out there that feel as though the weight of the world is on your shoulders and that weight is just a little too heavy to hold right now. Just know things can and will get better. But for now, keep doing your best, your best is always enough.
Please remember it's okay not to be okay; if you need to talk then please reach out to me - I will always be available, even if we haven't talked in a while. Even if you think it's weird or we aren't on speaking terms, even if we don't know each other. Text, call, message me, anything. I will be there. I am always a shoulder to cry on and an ear to listen. Nothing is worse than going through something alone.
Lets raise awareness for Mental Health, together.
