I will be taking a walk with my family during Ramadan on Saturday 9th May from Keighley to Skipton and back, over 20 miles. This will be done during Ramadan, with no water. A journey of approximately 15 minutes by car but 7-8 hours of walking. 

Not one for missing out on all the walking in our incredibly beautiful landscape, I have enlisted my children to take part in this charitable initiative by walking 20 miles to their school in Skipton and back during ramadan. This is a diffifcult challenge for adults let alone children. I would like to extend this event to all parents and their families during the month of ramadan, you can encourage your children to take this task as a sadaqah. The walk will likely take around 7-8 hours and will be entirely canal based. Starting from the easiest access point in Riddlesden, taking in the lovely and oft forgotten beauty of our small valley, meandering towards Skipton, without any danger of roads or traffic. My family and I will be taking the challenge on Saturday. May Allah give tawfiq and purify our intentions.

We will be raising money for Abu Zahra Foundation in Keighley, an educational charity based in Keighley that provides traditional islamic syllabus to children in the area.  They money will go towards the refurbishment of the prayer hall / classrooms and exterior of the building.

This is in memory of our dearest Haji Abdul Ghafoor, a noble and upright man that passed away just 2 weeks ago. May Allah accept this effort from us.

I initially put the target down as £1000 but mashallah that was raised within 5 hours. This time we are hoping we can achieve a bigger target.
