Thanks for taking the time to visit the Falklands Utd JustGiving page raising money for SAMA 82 who support Veterans of the Falklands Conflict
"The South Atlantic Medal (1982) is the official name of the medal awarded to almost 30,000 service men and women - and civilians - who took part in the campaign to liberate the Falkland Islands in 1982. The South Atlantice Medal Association (SAMA (82)) is their Association." www.sama82.org.uk
The Falklands is an incredibly beautiful & unique place. The residents of the Falklands are very proud of our British heritage & wish to remain British. This is self-determination. This is what British troops & civilians fought for in 1982. 255 British troops died during the conflict & many have suffered since. We recognise the truly excellent work SAMA 82 do for Falklands Veterans, particularly in bringing Veterans to the Falklands so they may lay their ghosts to rest, experience the beautiful Falklands & meet the people they liberated. Falklands Utd wants to play its part in fundraising for SAMA 82 Veterans & we hope you can help us to help them.
Falklands Utd started life on Twitter & subsequently Facebook as a way of getting the Falkland Islanders voice out into the world. Social networking sites can be very powerful tools in spreading a message. We currently have over 13,000 followers of our Twitter page & over 250 likes of our Facebook page.
