Familia, situated in West Bengal, is a family for those without one. At the moment they look after 45 children between four houses with a foster mother and father in each house, providing love, support and education. They have established an excellent school next to the foster home which educates Familia children as well as others in the area. In addition they care for senior citizens in a separate house.

Familia also provide outreach support for the local community -from food donations to medical care. 

Just like so many others, Familia is struggling with its finances as a result of the Covid-19 situation. However super cyclone Ambhan (May 2020) had a greater affect on Familia than we thought initially. For example Familia’s main cash crop used to be tapioca but the cyclone destroyed most of it. In effect, therefore, they had a “Double whammy” and funds are running dangerously low.

Please can you help? Of course there are thousands of similar people suffering as a result of Covid-19 and “One can’t help all the people all the time” but if you can gift even a small amount this would really be so much appreciated.
