IDCF provides support to charities within Tower Hamlets with specific interest in the Isle of Dogs, Poplar and Limehouse. Its most successful project is the annual Summer Programme that provides a range of co-ordinated activities for children and young people, many of whom live in overcrowded accommodation. The programme encourages them to experience new activities.

Story

After 26 years of working with Tower Hamlets, Helen Jenner is leaving us to become a Director at Barking & Dagenham.

Instead of a gift, Helen would like any donations to go straight to the Isle of Dogs Community Foundation, a local charity which provides residential breaks for families living in Tower Hamlets who otherwise would not get an opportunity to go away together.  This will enable Tower Hamlets' families to continue to access programmes, currently funded from working neighbourhood funds which will end in 2011.

The feedback from parents and children who have been away together, sometimes for the first time, speaks for itself

"It was FANTASTIC!"

"I haven't been on a bike for 16 years! I don't think the children knew I could ride one!"

"we haven't laughed together so much for years!"

Any donations will be gratefully accepted.

Many thanks.
