Asalamu Alaykum wa Rahmatullahi wa Barakatuh,

Dear brothers and sisters in Islam and humanity, my aim is to raise at least £500 to contribute towards two whole trucks of food that will be sent to starving families in Syria.

Why should you donate?

Because people, human beings like you, me and our families are starving. They haven't eaten a proper meal for days, their stomachs are burning with hunger and they cannot relieve it. Their children are begging their parents for food but they have nothing to give. Could you ever imagine living like that day by day? Not knowing when you are going to eat? Sleeping outside in the cold?

If a starving child came up to you and asked you for food would you say no? Would you turn away? I'm sure that you have the heart not to. A hungry child may not be begging at your feet but I am here on their behalf asking you to spare whatever money you can to feed them.

Please donate generously- it doesn't have to be a grand amount but please make sure that it really is all you can give. Remember charity does not decrease your wealth rather it only increases it. I promise you that by donating you will not lose out. Rather you will be gaining the pleasure of Allaah and earning His blessings.

It was narrated from Abu Hurayrah (may Allaah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allaah (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: “Allaah said: ‘Spend, O son of Adam, and I shall spend on you.’” (Narrated by al-Bukhaari, 5073; Muslim, 993.)

Not only do you gain the pleasure of Allaah and his reward but giving charity is an opportunity to wash away sins. Allaah SWT mentions in His book: “If you disclose your Sadaqaat , it is well; but if you conceal them and give them to the poor, that is better for you. (Allaah) will expiate you some of your sins. And Allaah is Well-Acquainted with what you do” [al-Baqarah 2:271]. 

It is also mentioned that the Prophet (SAW) said “Charity extinguishes sin as water extinguishes fire.” Al-Tirmidhi (614); classed as saheeh by al-Albaani in Sunan at-Tirmidhi. 

So think of the pleasure of Allaah ,think of your suffering brothers and sisters and think of a sin that you regret and wish that it could be erased... and donate.
