Ben Nevis, Gaelic for "mountain of heaven" has been one of the places I have always wanted to visit and it's great to know that every mile I climb will help support people to live well with dementia today and fund research to find a cure for tomorrow. One in 3 people over 65 will die with dementia. It is more than just memory loss; it robs people of their lives and has a devastating impact on families and loved ones. Alzheimer's Society rely on voluntry donations to continue their work in England, Wales and Northern Ireland. Before I am too old and decrepit myself, I thought, I better get cracking and just do the deed.
