This last weekend I was reading the Sunday papers and I read an article by the British journalist John Simpson.  He explained about the unfolding crisis in Afghanistan, a country which has relied on food aid for years and which, since the withdrawal of coalition forces, is facing one of the worst humanitarian crises of modern times.

The country's economy is close to collapse, with the most economically capable citizens fleeing the country, leaving behind some 23M people on the point of starvation.
