Start Small began in 2011 with the goal to educate, empower and encourage the youth of Nakuru, Kenya. Since 2011, Start Small has grown immensely and we now support 97 children to attend school. 

We also work very closely with the families of our children as well as several families within the community, offering projects like Mamas on a Mission, Girl Power and the Yummy Food Project. For more information please visit our website at: http://startsmallkenya.co.uk/

As soon as we started getting to know the families we work with, we admired their hard work and determination no matter how difficult their situation was. As Christmas came around we knew that many of them would not be able to celebrate the holiday season as they deserve to, which is why we decided to start Feed A Family. 

As a special appreciation and gift to our families, we wanted to spread some joy and love by putting together hampers with some staple foods, necessities and a few extra treats for them to enjoy during the Christmas season.

We then distribute the hampers to Start Small families and a few other families we work with, all living in very low income areas in Nakuru. The joy it brings them is immeasurable and we feel so grateful that we are able to do this for them. 

These families really have next to nothing so you can only imagine the joy and relief these hampers bring.  A donation of £12/$15/ 1500KES will buy a HUGE hamper for one family, providing meals for at least five days!
