At Alzheimer’s Society we’re working towards a world where dementia no longer devastates lives. We do this by giving help to those living with dementia today, and providing hope for the future by campaigning to make dementia the priority it should be and funding groundbreaking research.

Story

Thanks for everyone's support last year sponsoring me and my family to do the memory walk to raise money for the Alzheimer's society.

This year has seen my Dad go into a care home just after his 70th Birthday. Although he gets amazing care I can't help find it extremely sad that he was never really able to enjoy his retirement with my Mum, our family and friends. It such a terrible disease and I would love a world without dementia.

So this year I am swimming a mile around the Serpentine, combating the cold water, pond weeds and duck poo to raise money for alzheimer's society. Alzheimer’s Society is transforming the landscape of dementia forever. Until the day they find a cure, they will create a society where those affected by dementia are supported and accepted, able to live in their community without fear or prejudice.

Please donate as much as you can but every penny helps so even small donations are very welcome. Lots of silly wetsuit pictures to come!
