Fergus's Challenge 50 - Guinness World Record Event

Challenge 50 - Guinness World Record Event · 27 May 2016
I am taking part in a 50 hour continuous game of hockey to raise money for Age UK Essex.
This event will be a fun and social way that I can contribute to raising money for an important charity. It will also be psychologically and physically challenging so every bit of support will be more than welcome. Any money however small or large would be greatly appreciated by myself, Age UK and those who need this money the most, so thank you for your donations.
Event details – two squads of just 16 are targeting to play 50 hours of hockey. A tall order with very little rest for all involved:
When - The game begins on 6pm Friday 27th May and will end at 8pm Sunday 29th May 2016.
Where - The game will take place at Warners Bridge, home of Old Southendian Hockey Club (SS2 5RE).
World Record - OSHC are working alongside Olympus KeyMed to set a new World Record for the longest continual hockey match, currently set by Holcombe Hockey Club (40 hours).
Charity - This event is in aid of Age UK Essex. The money raised will go towards: dementia support services - to set up and run the service in the Southend area; Talking Friends project - providing transport and access to activities and rebuilding friendships to reduce loneliness and isolation; sponsorship of branded clothing for front line staff to assist identification whilst working with vulnerable people.
