I am swimming a 4km stretch of the River Arun on Saturday 28 September in celebration of my special nephew Hughie's 40th birthday, raising money for his Residents Home the Purley Park Trust.

Hughie has lived at Purley Park Trust since he was 28 and they have treated him with amazing kindness, respect and patience.

Purley Park Trust provide high quality services for people with learning disabilities and support about 80 people in their local community, ensuring that each of them receives excellent care and encouragement.

The last time I asked for sponsorship for a swim was at school when you asked people to sponsor you per length! Any support is greatly appreciated and knowing that I am doing this for Hughie and his fellow residents will hopefully spur me down the river.
