Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page. I am raising money for the Hitchin Tilehouse Rotary Club to help continue our vital work.
I am doing this as part of the 2.6 Challenge taking place this Sun day 26th April - where people all over the UK are doing something with the theme of 2.6 or 26 (the date the London Marathon should have taken place) to raise donations for their chosen charities.
For my challenge - I am going to be videoing my attempt to put on, take a selfie and take off 26 hats from my hat collection - all in 2.6 minutes. I knew there was a reason I had collected so many hats - and this is it!
As we all know, numerous fundraising events have been cancelled due to Covid-19, with an estimate that the UK charity sector will lose £4 billion income this year as a result of the pandemic. That includes our own Rotary Club of Hitchin Tilehouse.
We have so far had to cancel two of our biggest fundraisers this year; the Spirit of Hitchin Gin Festival and the Half Hard Marathon. This means the Club Trust Fund will lose out on generating around £12,500 this year. This will severely limit our vital work and support for organisations we have supported in the past such as Hitchin Food Provisioning Team and Food Banks, Keech Hospice, GriT, Herts Young Homeless, Aqua Box, Growing People, Purple for Polio, Just be a Child, Lister Hospital, Cancer Hair Care, Stand-by-Me, Prostate Cancer, Dyspraxia Foundation, ShelterBox, Kids Out and The Hitchin Samaritans.
Any money you donate will go via the JustGiving site direct to the Hitchin Tilehouse Trust fund account. If you can spare some money to donate, I would really appreciate it and can promise you it will be put to very good use.
