Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
Just completed hull marathon, next one yorkshire marathon after getting a 1.56.31 at great north run.
This is my third half marathon since October last year which was my first ever race. Since then running has been the one thing in my life that makes me feel like I could make a difference in the world. Ive also jumped out of a plane, ran a marathon and completed tougher mudder. Things that I would have only dreamt about doing before Jason passed away of Ewings Sarcoma. He was 26 fit and healthy and talked ten to the dozen like me. He spent his last weeks paralysed from the waist down and the last few days in and out of coherence due to having numerous tumours, one which pressed on his temporal lobe. I guess it made me see life in a different way. I am so grateful for my health.
Raising money for Bone Cancer Trust is my way of giving back for the hours of joy that running brings me. Its a way of being able to say that I am living my life. I read articles about young children and adults suffering because the huge cancer charities are not giving money for new research. I see pics of people who have died young and they never had a chance to grow old and I look at my kids and think what if they were mine? I don't know what the future holds for me but I do know that £30 pays for one hour of research. That means that if I reach my target you have helped fund 12 hours of research.
Could you spare a couple of pounds to help me? It might save the life of one child for the price of a cup of tea. I might spend 2 hours running this race but I spend 5-6 hrs a week running because its the only way I know how to raise money.
Thankyou for taking the time to read my page
