Some of you might remember that I ran my first ever half marathon last year to support my mum and sister following their cancer diagnosis – well this year I’m at it again!
On Sunday 29th March, I’ll be taking part in the London Landmarks Half Marathon in honour of my wonderful mum. After being given the all clear following an operation for lung cancer, she was diagnosed with a secondary brain tumour in late July last year. She had an operation to remove this tumour, but after several complications and putting up a courageous fight for over 2 months in hospital, she sadly passed away in October.
Now, I’m not going to go on for ages about how awful cancer is….we all know that. All I can say is that it truly sucks! My heart breaks for every single person that has had to go through/is going through something similar to my family.
My mum was a fun, life loving person – her passing away so quickly highlights that life is short, life is precious and life is for living! Please help me raise money for such a wonderful charity.
