Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

My Mum was diagnosed 12 years ago & died just before Christmas 2019.

This disease slowly took away most of what my mum loved due to the chronic debilitating fatigue, sickness and painful arthritis that came with it.  Mum loved being outdoors which encompassed her love of animals such as horses and dogs as well as fast driving and many other daring endeavours.  Latterly Mum was one of the unlucky 5% of PBC sufferers to develop a tumour on her already massively compromised liver.... So when she had an accident and was knocked over fracturing her hip and arm, mum's liver simply stopped functioning (sort of a shock reaction to the trauma).  Throughout Mum didn't often complain even though she was constantly in pain of some sort.  Mum being the wonderful person and nurse that she used to be, always put family and friends way before herself. Even in her final days!

Mum did say throughout the 12 years how little people and some medics knew about PBC so for this reason in her memory and to support the work the PBC (Primary Biliary Cholangitis) charity do I am hoping to get lots of support in my first ever marathon which will be the Loch Ness Marathon on the 4th October 2020 and help other PBC sufferers and their families and friends.  I hope you can reach into your hearts and give what ever you can ❤️ thank you
