As many of you know, we've had a rollercoaster ride with our young son Sandy, the marvellous little medical mystery that he is, so when my friend Tory Hay fooled, er I mean, enticed me into swimming two marathons with her, in the THAMES, I thought raising money for the paediatric department at Sandy's hospital, St Mary's in Paddingon, would keep me going through the duck poo, chilly dark water and desire to climb out at the bank and head for the nearest pub.

We would have been lost without St Mary's paediatric department's support, they are a world-leading team of specialists, nurses and therapists who deserve to be recognised for their hard work and compassion, so this is a small way for me to give something back to them.
