Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
I had so much fun participating in the RideLondon46 in 2018, and as I came to the end and thought about the event, and the torrential rain, high wind and broken chain, I thought what else did it need?? I know, Hills, really big, hard hills...
So I’ve set myself the challenge of the RideLondon100 in 2019, and can’t wait to hit the Leith and Box hill sections... honest!
This year I’m riding for Alzheimer’s Research UK. Many years ago I watched my dear old Nan struggle and eventually lose her battle with Alzheimer’s.
Over 850,000 people live with Dementia in the UK and that number is rapidly rising.
At £24 billion each year, dementia costs the UK economy more than cancer and heart disease combined but over two thirds of the care for Dementia patients is paid for by themselves or their family.
· £20 could fund one hour of vital research
· £50 could provide access to specialist equipment for studying cells
· £120 could support complex protein analysis
· £300 could pay for a genetic test to help identify risk genes
I know we are always being asked to sponsor something but this is a big one and the 100 miles will be a real challenge (so please be generous if you would like to donate
Thanks all
