Snowdon Midnight Challenge 2016 · 13 May 2016 to 14 May 2016 ·

At Alzheimer’s Society we’re working towards a world where dementia no longer devastates lives. We do this by giving help to those living with dementia today, and providing hope for the future by campaigning to make dementia the priority it should be and funding groundbreaking research.

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page.

We are all staff of Fisher German's Ashby de la Zouch office and are taking on the challenge of climbing the highest mountain in Wales by torchlight, in aid of Alzheimer's Society.

Alison Darwent, Debbie Watts, Dawn Wood, Katie Ikin and Rachel Flood are climbing Snowdon on the night of 13th May, to raise money to help change the lives of people living with dementia in the UK.

We were inspired to take part in the challenge by Debbie Watts, whose mother suffers from Alzheimer's.  As well as working full-time at Fisher German, Debbie is also her primary carer.

It is a heartbreakingly cruel disease and there are so many people suffering from it, we need to raise awareness of the illness and help in providing specialist care and support, as well as research for the future.

We have a training plan of weekly walks which we do during the week and at weekends to prepare us for the ascent which can take up to 10 hours.

It will be tough, but a fabulous achievement and hopefully an amazing sunrise on the descent.

Thank you for taking the time to read our story, any help towards our fundraising is most gratefully appreciated.

Debbie, Alison, Rachel, Dawn and Katie.
