Story
Taking part in the London Marathon has always been on my bucket list. But it’s never been the right time or right cause. Until now...as I begin to compile my ‘40 things to do before I’m 40 list’ I’m finally getting to face my fears and take on the Marathon in its 41st year. This really will be 'third time lucky', as I was due to take part in April 2020 and trained up to 17 miles before it was pulled because of the pandemic. After training again for October 2020, that event was also canned so I completed the Virtual London Marathon instead, very slowly AND NOW FINALLY I'm hoping I'll get to the streets of London in October 2021...
I’m super proud to be raising money for Action Medical Research in the process. They are the only charity in the UK funding a broad range of research to help children and babies. With your support we will help defeat the diseases that devastate the lives of sick and disabled babies, children and young people now and in the future.
Thank you to Terry Jones (my Dad) Who in 2020 supported me to keep up his running whilst in isolation by taking part in the Mid Sussex virtual Marathon. He ran two 10 milers and a 10k and prob run several marathons too (over the time) and helped boast my fundraising too. Thank you to all his friends who sponsored him on here to take part in that challenge.
