Story
The boys had been conditioned for this challenge over the previous 2 days by members of the British Army, without their help none of this would have been possible – therefore a big thank you to Staff Sergeant Steve Cripps (47 RA), Craftsman Kara Parry (128 REME) and Corporal Tom (contact front) Cornwell (2 PWRR).
For those that pulled the Land Rover – be proud of yourselves and 'Walk Tall’ - you have all earned the right to do so! We have reached our target of £1K – however please continue to sponsor us.Here's a web site which goes some way to capture the spirit of the weekend and the achievement of the boys, well done lads!

As well the event has received some coverage in a recent edition of the Portsmouth News - see link below:http://www.portsmouth.co.uk/we-did-it/Youngsters-dig-deep-for-charity.6477364.jp

We are the Fleur-De-Lys under 10’s ‘B’ football team – thank you for taking the time to read our message.
On the weekend of July 23rd/25th, along with our Dad’s we will be taking part in a football ‘Bootcamp’ at Thorney Island in Hampshire. We are all looking forward to the weekend which will be packed with activities to help us work on our football skills, our teamwork and prepare us for the new football season. We are very lucky that the some members of the Armed Forces have volunteered to help make the weekend a memorable event for us, with this in mind we wanted to show our appreciation and have decided to support a couple of very honourable charities. So we have set ourselves a couple of challenges in order to raise money in support of both ‘Help for Heroes’ and ‘ABF - The Soldier’s Charity’. This page is set-up for Help for Heroes who raise money to support members of the Armed Forces who have been wounded in the service of their country http://www.helpforheroes.org.uk/ What are we going to do? Well, on the Sunday morning; we are going to work as a team to pull an Army Land Rover for over 1 mile down an air-strip, whilst our Dad’s run alongside taking it in turns to carry a stretcher!
If we can, we would very much like to raise equal amounts for both of the charities we are supporting so please take a look at the 'ABF The Soldier’s Charity’ page too and donate as you see fit - http://www.justgiving.com/Fleurs-U10s-Army-LandRover-Pull-ABF - ABF The Soldier’s Charity supports soldiers, former soldiers and their families in times of need.
We’d like to finish by saying, ‘yes’ we are part of the ‘play-station generation’ but above all else we are Fleur’s U10’s ‘B’ - a team of boys formed over the last 2 to 3 years, who train together and ultimately on the field of football either win or lose together – very much a band of brothers in the making who look out for each other.
Oh, here's our team website too:
