It's unbelievable how common cancer is; everyone can say they know someone who had or has cancer. The definition of cancer, the growth of abnormal cells, even hints at the ease at which cancer develops.
A few years ago, my aunt was diagnosed and treated for non-hodgkin lymphoma; she has been in remission since then. I also have a great grandma who died of lung cancer, a grandpa who lost a battle to pancreatic cancer, and a grandma who passed away after being diagnosed with a brain tumour. Before I was born, my father lost his younger sister to a brain tumour. This alone demonstrates exactly how prevalent cancer is.
Help me support cancer research UK in finding new treatments and screening methods, raising awareness through the provision of education, and influencing public policy.
