Florence's Half Marathon Page

Thanks for bothering to take a look at my JustGiving page- it'd be heartless not to donate now you've come this far!
I volunteered for RAD in the last few months of 2017 and it completely opened my eyes to the obstacles which the Deaf community face in every day life. From attending job interviews, to communicating with customer service staff, interactions which we so often take for granted are often a struggle for Deaf people without British Sign Language or an equivalent method of communication. This is something that I had never given enough thought to previously to my volunteering with RAD.
Please spare the odd £1 (or 5) that you'd normally put towards your mediocre meal deal, your ham (no mayo) sarnie with some overwhelmingly disappointing ready salted crisps. Make an extra portion of your pasta bake tonight, stick it in a tupperware and get donating!
I have never ever run a proper race before, I got excited when I made it into the relay team on sports day and have never, ever been fit enough to even dream of running 21 Kilometers! Those of you that know me will be excited for my inevitable Paula Radcliffe impersonation when I attempt to do so.
Moral of the story: those few squids can either be spent on the half-grimace, half-smirk on your face as you dig into your sandwich, sat at your desk at work having not moved off your spinning chair in 4 hours. Or, they can be thrown lovingly into this charitable online pot in an attempt to provide you with a wealth of good karma. You can put your name next to your donation to impress anyone who views this page (including me) which is definitely worth at least £1.
Thanks!
Disclaimer: You can STILL DONATE even if you: A) don't usually eat meal deals, B) rightfully so, would never EVER purchase ready salted crisps, C) don't even sit at a desk, D) have no matching tupperware lids and boxes in your house so would never be able to put your pasta bake in a tupperware box, E) aren't bothered about impressing me, or anyone that I associate with
