In August 2021, our Dad, Wilf, was diagnosed with bowel cancer. As well as surgery, Dad needed 6 months of chemo which he received at St Luke’s supported by the amazing Fountain Centre in Guildford. He finished his course in April 2022 and is still receiving support from the incredible staff who work there.

The centre provides a caring and safe environment for patients newly diagnosed with cancer, to help them and their families adjust and start them on their treatment plans. Balanced with the traditional approaches to cancer treatment, they also offer a wide range of complimentary therapies allowing patients to tailor their individual support.

The care and services that this charity provides is a lifeline for so many, including now, our family.

So we, a group of close friends led by Becky, Alex and Jon (daughter and son-in-laws), will be running THE GREAT SOUTH RUN on 16th October 2022 to raise as much money as we can to support The Fountain Centre.
