Alzheimer’s Research UK is the UK’s leading dementia research charity. We’re striving for a cure, by revolutionising the way we treat, diagnose and prevent dementia.

Story

Hi everyone

This year I am taking on the 2018 London Marathon and the New York Marathon to raise money for Alzheimer's Research UK. After completing the marathon last year for the first time I said never again, but sadly a few months later we lost my Mamma Janet after a long battle with dementia. This has inspired me to take on those 26.2 miles again... twice!

Over 850,000 people live with Dementia in the UK and that number is rapidly rising. At £24 billion each year, dementia costs the UK economy more than cancer and heart disease combined but over two thirds of the care for Dementia patients is paid for by themselves or their family.

Alzheimer' Research UK is conducting vital work to hopefully eradicate this disease in the future. To support their work and help me along the gruelling marathon training process I would be grateful for any donation, not matter how small, you are able to make.

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving - they'll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they'll send your money directly to the charity. So it's the most efficient way to donate - saving time and cutting costs for the charity.

Thanks from my family and I
