Story
The Family Holiday Association is a charity that was very dear to Frances's father, Ian Reynolds's heart.
He was a trustee of the charity for 15 years and one of his last acts before sadly passing away in October 2013 was to denote funds to buy a caravan at Haven Holiday Park Hafan Y Mor. Previously a Butlin's resort the site held great memories for Ian where he spent his younger years working as a redcoat.
The FHA help families struggling in really tough situations to get a much-needed break or day out. For over 40 years, the Family Holiday Association has provided breaks for UK families struggling with issues such as disability, severe and sudden illness, bereavement, mental health issues and domestic violence.
The charity was founded on the belief that holidays are a lifeline, not a luxury, and this is a key principle that survives to this day. The majority of families that the FHA help have never before been on a family holiday. The evidence shows that spending time together away from their daily struggles can be life-changing for the families we work with.
