In September 2018 my Dad unexpectedly suffered from a major heart attack which was a huge shock to my family and to everyone who knows him. Since then, my Dad has been receiving help and support from a charity called 'Action Heart' which is a cardiac rehabilitation programme helping those who have had a cardiac event. Through their exercise and education programme aswell as the help and support from their volunteers, they have helped my Dad to begin his recovery and to start running again. 

So, to thank the staff and volunteers at Action Heart for everything they have done and are continuing to do for my Dad and also to help them to continue to help others in a position like my Dad, my boyfriend and I have decided to run the Birmingham Half Marathon on 14th April 2019.
