Story
Always one to set myself new challenges, this year I’ve decided to run my first half marathon. This was probably not the wisest decision considering I used to take short cuts on the cross country course at school, it’s my final year of uni and the weather hasn’t exactly been kind to me this winter. But with numerous 5 o clock starts over the last few months and even spending my Christmas holiday in New York in the gym, it seems I might stand a chance of getting round the 13.1 mile course.
I’ve chosen to raise money for the Motor Neurone Disease Association, after a family member was recently diagnosed. This is a disease which is caused by degeneration of the motor neurones leading to weakness and wasting of muscles, resulting in loss of mobility and difficulties with speech, swallowing and breathing.
It has taken a lot of time, dedication and motivation for me to do this, and to make it all worthwhile I would be extremely grateful if you could dig deep and sponsor me. Every £1 counts!
