Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.  So why am I doing this?!?

While it probably isn't true that all polar bears are left handed (pawed?), is IS true that they are in trouble as a species...

Listed as vulnerable on the IUCN Red List, the polar bear has been affected by sea ice losses in the Arctic from global warming which have caused a loss of habitat and prey. In summer 2012, sea ice losses in the Arctic were larger than the size of the United States. Biologists estimate that there are 20,000 – 25,000 polar bears. About 60% of these live in Canada and they are also found in the U.S. (Alaska), Russia, Greenland and in Norway.

YWP will be working with the conservation organisation Polar Bears International to raise funds and support research and work with polar bears in the wild.  By donating what you can to support me on the streak is how you (yes, you) can help, whilst remaining fully clothed!  I'll be baring all and walking, not running, the approx 1km across the Project Polar exhibit on 12th July and any support will be hugely appreciated and be a massive boost.

Thank you very much :)
