My story starts with my Mum a lovely lady that worked hard and brought up 4 kids  that didnt  turn out to bad . Although we were aware of Huntington's Disease in our family as my Nan and my Uncle Keith had it we thought it had missed my mum.  Mum didn't have the test done as there were no signs or symptoms, and that's how it was for a while until she started showing  some signs years later in her late 50's.  After being diagnosed in 2002 her health declined, eventually she went into a Nursing Home.  Mum died in 2007.  Soon after all of us were tested albeit at different times. Out of four children  3 of us were positive and one negative .  Either of those results were hard to take for different reasons. All of us affected have kids and as this is a hereditary  disease they have a 50% chance of inheriting the gene . From this point I said to myself that I wanted to try and raise as much as I could and do as much as I could in order to support this charity.  So in August 2008 we arranged an Auction Event which was amazing, with the help of fantastic friends and family (Alan, Nod and Steve and many more) we raised very close to £10,000 with the Full Monty Team (Alan, Ian, Mark, Nick and me) making an appearance. Two  years later 5  mad people (Brad, Hayley, Paul, Sandy and me)  threw themselves from an airplane which raised a further £2000.  We are now planning more fund raising events over the coming years our main event being our Cycle Ride ( Julian, Joe, John, Dan, Mark and me) also have family that will be Skydiving (Rosie and Wendy) as well as a May Ball, Quiz Night etc more info will be posted as each event is confirmed.

Great news on the Skydive. Rosie (my daughter), and Wendy ( my 69 years young mother in law) now have two extra volunteers to do the jump. Harriette (my neice) and Roisin (my neice). So two become four,  and the good news for all of them, is its now booked for 18 /10/14. They all have sponsor forms  so if you can help that would be great. Alternatvely you can donate via this just giving site.

Jump got cancelled last minute will  rearrange hopefully for 31/10/14

The brave jumpers finally got their wish . Great day out , lovely  weather perfect for a12000 ft tandam skydive. All the jumpers were very calm ,maybe a few nerves on the plane but all landed safely and with style. (check pictures out , cant wait to see the videos) . GIRLS  YOUR ALL AMAZING. Don't know how much you have raised but looks like it could be close to £2000 ,will confirm how much when all sponsors come in.

So one event is complete , that leads us to the next a March Ball, so please support as much as you can .

Ball now booked ,dj booked , tickets printed

March ball took place on 14th March 2015 and was a great success. Many thanks to the shops and restaurants that donated a gifts for the raffle or auction and to the individuals and buisnesses that donated terrific prizes . Also a big thanks to all who paid for their tickets, and turned up and helped to make a wonderful evening at Channels Golf Club .

The charity ball  has hopefully raised in excess £4500 for the night , some of this will now go to help with our Final Fling  :

Cycling from John O Groats to Lands End . A distance of 1000 miles over 14 Days( Each day approx 70- 90 miles)

The ride will take place on the dates of 15th July to 28th July 2015 and just to let you know their will be updates for each day of the ride from my facebook page jogle

Unfortunately one of our riders has had to drop out due to other commitments, but there are still five riders taking part(Dan Hart, Jon Foot ,Mark Carter, Julian Sutton and myself Frank Allen)and two very kind support crew ( Shaun Hart, Sean Walshe). So if you can help any of these people ,in any way please do, most importantly by sponsoring them or by using this page .

Two weeks to go and we all have been doing longer rides, getting tired in the evenings,  just want to get going now . Its been a lot of organising  but worth it .

This is the last of the fundraising for this year

So , please  help  and donate

Huge thanks to all who have helped and to those who have donated already

frank

All donations will be very gratefully received no matter how big or small.
