At Salisbury Hospice, we understand the profound impact of a progressive, life-limiting illness—not only for those diagnosed but for their families and loved ones. We offer our patients compassionate, palliative and end of life care, providing comfort, and guidance at every step.

Story

So, where do we start?

Well, we start with Steve!

As that is where it ended.

There is no 'short' story, and nor should there be.

In October 2016 I was diagnosed with leukemia, life took a turn and myself and Trish went away to deal with that.

We left the New Forest for a while, locked down (ironic) and dealt with what we had to deal with.

In 2019 post treatment and well into recovery, we moved back to the New Forest.

Little did we know at that time that Steve had been diagnosed with Prostate cancer in November 2016.

Sadly, his path was not as positive as mine, and his cancer spread and was eventually terminal.

We had an 'amazing' charity evening to raise funds on behalf of the Prostate Cancer charity in October 2019 - it was a humbling evening and everybody was so generous.

That was also the evening that Steve was admitted to Salisbury Hospice - from where he sadly never left and passed away on 11/11/2019.

So, it was only appropriate to try and raise funds for the Salisbury Hospice in respect and thanks for all the humanity, love, support and care they provided for Steve during his final days, his wife Lyn and the extended family during this very challenging of times.

So, my plan is to do 160K (100 Miles) on a spin bike (10x16K classes back to back), and between each 16 block 100 press ups, total 1,000 press ups.

Crazy , I know!

So, there you have it, a days worth of pain, for your kind donations.

It is never lost on me that our situation could have been very different, what happened that year could have been Trish and myself - and a very different outcome.

So, in respect of all the team at the Salisbury Hospice we would like to do something to say THANK YOU and raise some well earned funds.

Please support us in any way you can.

I am very fortunate to have my coach (Leah) working with me and pushing me through the various pain barriers along the way.

Thank you,
