Edinburgh Marathon Festival Full Marathon 2018 · 27 May 2018 ·

We build resilience through activity-based peer support with advice from staff and invited speakers. We also provide mental fitness workshops to local schools, as well as opportunities for volunteering and employment. And we work within the community to tackle the stigma surrounding mental illness.

Story

I honestly can’t believe that it is only 1week until the marathon. It seems like yesterday that I was thinking I’ve got ages to go!

Last long(ish) run today, a cheeky 15k in the sun ☀️ Probably a couple of 5k’s next week to keep the legs moving then it’s all about Sunday.

Watch out finish line 🏁 I’m coming to get you.......slowly 🏃‍♂️

Many of us have to cope at some time in our lives with feelings of hopelessness and despair. Anxiety and depression, low self-esteem, a bereavement, or a sudden loss of confidence, can sometimes seem overwhelming.

At Pillar Kincardine you will meet other people who have been through many of the same life experiences, build a network of friends and contacts, and be supported by them and by others in the community as you move along the road to recovery and wellbeing.

And at Pillar you can obtain advice and support from qualified staff – and from people just like you – on every aspect of living with and recovering from mental ill health.
