Story
Hello and thank you for visiting one of my three just giving pages for my chosen charities St Thomas' Lupus Trust, SANDS and Prader-Willi Syndrome Association.
Having completed several half hearted challenges over the years Drew and I have decided to embark on one that will definitely take us to our limits. The Midnight Man is a Half Iron man that gets under way at 8pm with a 1.9km swim, followed immediately by a 90km bike ride and a 21.1km run that’s a total of 113km of man powered transport that will take us through to a finish around2:30am.
We have raised money in the past for a number of charities but there are three specifically that have changed the lives of my family and friends and its time I gave something back. Drew has helped me through several challenges and he will be will me every step of the way as I attempt to raise over £6000 for these three charities.
SANDS is a charity to help families cope with the devastating effect of losing a child before they get to know them. In November of 2012 my daughter Angel Elizabeth was stillborn. There is absolutely nothing that can prepare a person for what happened to us and knowing what to do over the following days was near impossible but SANDS offered us a source of information and support that guided us through what to expect, what we could do to honor her, making arrangements and offering the support of others who had been through the same thing. The SANDS charity provides a support network for parents which is no doubt saving families and giving hope to those who feel hopeless. Without them we would have been completely lost and I am eternally grateful for their support.
In addition to the support they offer to grieving families, SANDs work tirelessly at centres throughout the UK to reduce the frequency of stillbirth in the UK which is currently one of the highest in the developed world!!!!!!!!!
I encourage you to look at my other pages and learn a little about my other causes and thank you for your generous donation.
