Story

We are the Gwynedd and Anglesey Autism Support Group - (GAAASG)

On the 4th June we'll be having a sponsored walk to raise money for the group. There's very little of it's kind in the area and money raised will help fund workshops, talks from guest speakers, and days out for all the members of the group.

This year we have had talks from OPUS, an EU funded initiative aimed at assisting individuals with disabilities gain employment, from the RSPB, as members have a keen interest in wildlife and conservation, amongst others. We have also had a variety of workshops, including teaching members how to use professional cameras and utilise them to their full advantage, as many members also enjoy photography. Furthermore, we have had several days out, some of them being bowling, visiting other similar support groups in Wales, and a Christmas Dinner which we have together every year.

There has been a lot of change in the last two years and we have been short of funding, which is running out. So your donations will help support the much needed, and only service of its kind for the whole island of Anglesey and county of Gwynedd, North Wales. Your donations will help ensure the continuity of this service.

A huge thank you to all those who have donated! Words really can't express how grateful we all truly are for your generosity. It hopefully won't be long until we have enough to fund some of our workshops, talks and outings for the year.

Again, a sincere thank you from all of us here at GAAASG. Your donations will be, and are really appreciated by all of us here at GAAASG and will go to good use.

-Update: 04/06/17, 21:29: We got back from the sponsored walk today around 5—and it went tremendously! The sun was shining, it was lovely and hot, and was all round terrific (minus my slight sunburn!). We started at Malltraeth and then walked down through the forest, eventually ending up at Newborough Beach—we didn't get too lost thankfully! We all had a great time and are so thankful for the donations we've received during the time we were walking. Thank you so much! (Pictures coming soon!)

-Update: 20/06/17, 23:59: A massive thank you to all those who have donated! _____________________________________________________________________________
