EMERGENCY WINTER APPEAL FOR

GAZA AND SYRIA

 

IMPORTANT - As the winter time comes to an end - the winter appeal will be winding down. BUT any further donations will still go towards GAZA/SYRIA most needy insha'Allah.

Muhammad SalAllahu ‘alaihi wassalam said,

‘…Allah Subhanahu wa Ta’ala remains committed to help his servant as long as he stays committed to help his brother in need…’ (Muslim) 

The winter months will be difficult for war- weary families in Gaza and Syria.

In Gaza, many families lack basic coverings and blankets. They will endure the winter months freezing and wet, as the wind and rain pounds their broken homes.

In Syria, displaced families do not have blankets and clothes to keep warm. Many children fled their homes in the summer months wearing nothing but sandals and t-shirts. They now sleep in tents or abandoned buildings with no warmth and no protection.

Ummah Welfare Trust asks donors to donate at least £100 and provide a family with the essentials to survive the winter months.

We have set a target of providing 200 emergency packs for 200 families in Gaza and Syria insha'Allah. Sounds like a large amount on paper BUT equates to ONLY 200 amazing individuals donating JUST £100. Please Open Your Hearts insha'Allah and Please give generously. 

£100 will provide a family in Syria with:

• Blankets
• Electric Heater
• Winter Clothing (for adults and children)
• Islamic essentials (Qur'ans, miswaks, etc.)

 

£100 will provide a family in Gaza with:

• Blankets
• Mattresses
• Emergency Food Provisions

 

Taking care of the poor in the winter and protecting them from the cold is a great deed. Safwan bin Salim went out on a cold night in Madinah near the mosque, and he saw a man with little clothing on. So, he took off his coat and covered him up with it.

So someone living in Sham saw in a dream that Safwan bin Salim had entered Paradise with a shirt he had made. So he went to Madinah and said: 'Show me where Safwan is.' When he found him, he told him of the dream.

The fear of Allah 'azza wajjal should drive us to action. We cannot remain idle when our widowed mothers and orphaned children are out in the cold, surrounded by the enemies of Allah.

Let us make haste and come to their aid inshaAllah. Let us make haste and give Sadaqah - a sign of our imaan. Let us help the masakeen - the beloved of Allah. And let us earn the pleasure of our Rabb - Lord of the worlds.

May Allah Almighty Reward you greatly in this world and the hereafter - and may He Subhanahu wa Ta’ala Grant you happiness just as you will bring many smiles to our brothers and sisters in Gaza and Syria. Ameen
