Our work is all about giving new life to dogs in need. Many of the greyhounds and lurchers who arrive in our care are golden oldies, looking for a comfy sofa and a family of their own to care for them in their twilight years. Others have yet to draw their first breath, arriving in our care as a pregnancy and their mother in desperate need of our help. GRWE never turns a dog away because he or she is old or because they are pregnant – we believe every dog deserves the chance of a new life.

We are asking you to help give the gift of new life to more dogs by supporting our special Appeal. Our aim is to raise £10,000 to help dogs like Chloe, Cienna and her newborn puppies on their way to a new life.

Chloe is a ten year old greyhound who, prior to being homed by GRWE, only ever lived in kennels. Despite being an older lady, Chloe is still playful and likes to spin round and bow at visitors. She had 17 teeth removed at her dental when she first came into GRWE care, but that never stopped her from enjoying a good chew on rawhide strips! Chloe has now found her forever sofa and is thoroughly enjoying retirement. 

A donation of £20 today, or whatever you can afford, will make a real difference to other needy dogs in our care, and those who make their way to GRWE care over the months ahead. 

Cienna appeared on a list of strays in urgent need and, based upon nothing more than a photo of her with a quirky smile, we rescued her from the dog pound... and then we discovered that although she was only about three years old, she was expecting another litter! Cienna gave birth to nine puppies in late June in the safety of an experienced foster home. The whole family have now been successfully homed - and we wish them, and their forever families, all the best for happy lives ahead!
