As part of the heart failure team at Guys and St Thomas' NHS Trust, we work daily with heart failure patients and aim to give them the best possible care. 

We are pulling out our running trainers and shorts to run to raise money for heart failure patients for pumping marvellous charity which is a patient led charity that strives to promote heart failure awareness and advocacy.  There is a mixture of fitness levels and we have all been training hard to complete this for a great cause.

Heart Failure is a condition that affects nearly 1 million people in the UK. This figure doesn’t include the many carers and families that have to manage heart failure on a daily basis. In Europe there are 15 million people affected by Heart Failure and globally up to 27 million people that we know about. Prognosis can be poor and symptoms are debilitating. People who have heart failure not only have to manage the physical symptoms, but also have to wrestle with the psychological impact of the condition.

This charity is the UK's patient driven charity for heart failure!
