Story
I am Greg Sumner and I am doing two cycle rides in April 2017. The first ride is The Bay Route Cycle Challenge, from Barrow in Furness to Glasson Dock, Lancaster(81 Miles) on April 15th. The Second one is on the 29th/30th April and 1st May 2017. It is 215 miles coast to coast along the Trans Pennine Trail from Southport to Hornsea.
The Charity I am supporting is Niemann-Pick UK. It is a small charity dedicated to providing practical and emotional support to children and adults and their families affected by this disease, which is a rare, devastating and degenerative disease caused by the build up of cholesterol and other fatty acids in the brain, liver and spleen, for which there is no cure. The charity also promotes awareness, gives advice and information and facilitates research into potential therapies for Niemann- Pick.
My cousin's son, Matthew, was diagnosed with Niemann-Pick Type C, soon after he was born. He is a happy seven year old, even though his speech and physical skills are impaired. Matthew and his family are very appreciative of all the help and support Niemann-Pick give them.
