Story
In incredibly loving memory of
Graham Threader
19th February 1965 - 6th July 2018
Thanks for taking the time to visit the GT Fan Club JustGiving page. Please note that this is a group page for all donations for all Fan Club walkers taking part in this event.
Graham Threader (aka GT) was the most amazing husband, father, son, brother, friend and colleague. His brave battle with leukaemia inspired him and everyone around him, to take nothing for granted, to live life to the full, to have fun (lots & lots of it) and to love and be loved. I cannot begin to describe the hole he has left in our hearts.
The HCC charity supports the research, staff education, equipment and patient experience GT was able to benefit from over the near three years of illness. The team of medical staff became our family - the exceptional treatment, love support and facilities provided to both Graham and Mellie kept them going & going. GT was unstoppable!
After his bone marrow transplant in Feb 2016, Graham was determined to get back to fighting fit, get back to work and get back on his motorbike. With the help of the UCLH Haem Team, supported by HCC, he did all of those things and even ran the London Virgin 10k with the nurses in July 2017, not knowing he had relapsed.
The GT Fan Club was set up by Mellie, originally as a Whatsapp group to communicate on his progress and achievements. This large group of wonderful friends from far and wide will remain his biggest fan base and we will all keep laughing and loving in his memory.
We are hoping that around thirty or more GT fans will be walking the London Bridgathon with us on the 16th September and more are welcome.
In addition, GT fans and old neighbours, Rae and Mark Cowie, are hiking up Mount Keen in the Munros in Scotland this same weekend, sporting their HCC t-shirts in support of this team effort!
Please help us to give something back by sponsoring our walk. We'd like to raise a significant chunk of money to put towards a specific piece of kit or research. Every penny counts for this charity, so even a £1 donation is so very gratefully received.
Thank you!
