Lindsay Robertson is raising money for Sepsis Research FEAT

GT Scotland: Around the World Challenge · 27 August 2020

Sepsis Research FEAT funds vital research into sepsis and helps to raise awareness of sepsis. Sepsis is a life-threatening condition caused by the body overreacting to infection. It kills around 50,000 people in the UK each year. Please support us today & help us in our mission to #stopsepsisnow.

Story

The Grant Thornton Scottish offices are raising money for Sepsis Research through covering the distance on foot/ bike to virtually circumnavigate the globe, starting in Edinburgh on 1 September and finishing in Glasgow, with the trip taking us through Europe, along the silk road, up and over Mount Everest, along the Great Wall of China, trekking through the Russian wilderness, across America and arriving back on 30th September.

Sepsis Research are a registered Scottish Charity SC049399 & we are the UK’s only Sepsis Research Charity. Every four hours Sepsis kills someone in the UK. It accounts for over 52,000 deaths in the UK every year, that's more than breast and bowel cancer combined. We don't understand enough about sepsis and the biological processes that can lead to serious illness or even death. That is why we urgently need to increase funding for research, to understand the processes and design effective treatments for sepsis, to help save lives.
